My name is Kara Rister and I came to the Early Learning Academy in 2014. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with each child and helping them to discover who they are and that they have special abilities and gifts that are unique to them. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalm 139:14) Children are full of life, laughter and love; they have natural curiosities that they wish to discover and I love it when they teach me something new!
Before coming to the ELA, I was a stay-home mom with my children for six years. During this time I discovered that my passion was to further my education in teaching. I graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Math. I have been married to a devout husband for 24 years and we have lived in the local area for 17 years. Together we have served in many churches as volunteers in children’s ministries, youth pastor, choir and adult bible fellowship groups. We have been blessed with 3 beautiful children, identical twin girls, Hannah and Elizabeth, age 9, and our oldest son Jonathan is 14. It is never a dull moment in our house; the family all enjoys adventures outside and laughing at the dinner table.
