I came to America from Chile when I was 18 years old with the help of American missionaries to attend a Christian College. After graduation, I worked in several Christian and private schools in Florida teaching Spanish and French. I moved to Houston with my husband in 1981. During the summer I studied French Linguistics in Paris at the Sorbonne University.
In the fall of 1981, I decided to work at American Express as a travel agent. While working for them I had the opportunity to travel all over the world, which enabled me to learn about many other countries and cultures. Later I returned to teaching and taught Spanish and French in Christian and private schools.
My family lives in Chile and I have a brother who serves as a missionary in Arica, Chile. In my church I teach Sunday School to second grade children and I occasionally visit a nursing home. I also have a Christian track ministry and I try to personally witness about my faith in Christ to others.
I am happy to be working at Sojourn Academy where, I have been for the last five years. I teach Latin, Spanish and French, and I have the privilege to pray and read the Bible with my students. In my free time I enjoy reading Christian books, walking and feeding stray animals in my neighborhood.
