I obtained my four year Bachelor’s of Elementary Education with a Special Education Minor from the University of Alberta in 1991. Alberta, for those of you who may not be familiar with it, is the second province from the west coast of Canada and lies directly north of Montana. It is home to the Canadian Rocky Mountains including the scenic areas of Jasper and Banff national parks. Both locations are famous vacation spots.
We moved to the Woodlands Texas in September of 2001. Our families still reside in our home city of Edmonton. We are enjoying serving God and worshipping at Fellowship Church of the Woodlands where I had been involved with the children’s ministry for the last 10 years. I have also lead a small group Bible study, once a week at our home as well as ladies groups at church. I love exercise and incorporate many fun movement activities into our lessons in class.
My teaching experience began in a public school setting where I took over a 7th grade maternity leave my first year out of university. That year was a lesson in the verse “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me”. God then led me to Covenant Christian School where I spent three years teaching first grade. After my first child, I was given the privilege of staying home. God provided a very part time position at my alma mater West Edmonton Christian School teaching French as a second language to grades 4, 5 and 6.
God has blessed me with two amazing children who both had the benefit of growing up in Sojourn Academy. Jaymie and Dylan have both been well prepared to go forward into the public school arena and stand strong in their faith. My husband is a Global Network Administrator for an oil company.
I know God has great plans for our class this year. I go forward in confidence that as we let HIM lead, HE will be faithful to accomplish all the good works HE has purposed for this year.
