ADMISSIONS POLICIES

     Training up our children is our greatest responsibility in life. If children are raised in a Christian home, are actively involved in a local church, and attend a Christian school in their formative years, parents have done well to provide a Godly foundation for their lives. Sojourn Academy was founded to educate the children of Christian parents. It is necessary that all parents agree with the philosophy, policies, and teaching of Sojourn Academy.

     The following admissions policies have been adopted to assure consistent standards of admission in agreement with the philosophy of the school:

1. At least one parent/guardian must be a Christian, having experienced the "new birth." (John 3:1-7, II Corinthians 5:17) The parent must declare in writing that they have accepted and continue to acknowledge Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

2. The parent(s) must sign the Statement of Family Cooperation stating that they have read and agree to the following:
a) The Statement of Faith and agree to have their children educated in accordance therein.
b) The parent(s) will willingly support the school in prayer and lend practical help as required by the school; and will participate as is required by the Parent's Code.
c) The school has full discretion within the bounds of the ORCA Handbook regarding discipline and all school policies.
d) The school has full discretion for the grade placement of children;
e) The parent(s) will meet all tuition and other financial obligations as stated in the Cost of Education and Financial Policies.

Sojourn Academy’s role is to work in conjunction with the home to mold students to be Christ-like. On occasion, the atmosphere or conduct within a particular home may be contradictory to the Biblical lifestyle the school teaches. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, sexual immorality, homosexual orientation, illegal drugs and alcohol, or inability to support the moral principles of the school. In such cases, the school reserves the right, within its sole discretion, to refuse admission of an applicant or to discontinue enrollment of a student. The school determines acceptance and placement of all students.

Sojourn Academy does not discriminate on the basis of the applicant’s race, gender, color, nationality, or ethnic origin. Due to the size and limitations of our school facilities and equipment, the Academy is unable to provide a modified classroom setting and individual supervision for students with special needs. These students are precious in the sight of God and our school and are in need of a school wherein they will receive all that they need. The school determines acceptance and placement of all students. Sojourn Academy reserves the right to change its guidelines and policies according to the needs of the school.
